As of 1 January 2024, Katja Bäuerle has taken over the management of the Erich Pommer Institut (EPI).
Katja Bäuerle is an internationally experienced producer and manager with decades of experience in production, team leadership, and communication. The qualified business economist has developed and produced more than 500 episodes of successful, mostly daily series in Germany and Australia during her career, before rising to corporate management at UFA. Most recently, she worked at UFA as Senior Manager of Creative Responsibility, Education & Internal Communications.
Katja Bäuerle on her new role:"Like so many interested filmmakers in Berlin and Brandenburg, I have encountered the EPI in my career as a seminar participant, but also as a lecturer and client. The quality of the offerings and the proximity to the research of the film university have always convinced me. All the more, I am pleased to be able to shape the future of the EPI as a continuing education hub and media think tank, and thus also contribute a little to the discussion about the future topics of our industry, together with the young and dedicated team on site."
The President of the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, Prof. Dr. Susanne Stürmer, on the appointment:"We are very pleased to have secured Katja Bäuerle for the management of the EPI. Katja knows the industry from many years of practice and brings enormous leadership experience and an excellent network: the best prerequisites for the successful further development of the EPI."
