Nicolò Gallio is a marketing strategist and audience designer with a background in PR, media relations, and content management for films, festivals, brands, and non-profit organisations. He currently serves as an advisor and trainer for the TorinoFilmLab Audience Design Fund and the TFL Extended – Audience Design Lab, and works closely with marketing agencies and film development initiatives to support scriptwriters, directors, and producers across fiction films, documentaries, and TV series. He holds a PhD in Film Studies from the University of Bologna (Italy), where he focused on the relationship between the production, consumption, and critical reception of audiovisual works within offline and digital environments.
Roser Canela-Mas has been working for the media industry for the last 16 years. She has worked on production and direction internationally and across multiple genres. For the last 6 years, and after a BSc in Sustainability and Environmental Management, she has been working to understand and reduce the environmental impact of the TV and film industry. She has worked for albert, the sustainability initiative led by BAFTA, as their international manager and led the build for the latest version of the albert toolkit, which includes an international carbon calculator and a sustainable production certification. She also advised productions on how to understand and reduce their carbon impact as well as how to create content that reflect a sustainable society. During her last few years at albert, she worked in the internalisation of albert by taking the initiative to other countries such as Finland, Canada, and The Netherlands. As of May 2022, she works for ITV Studios as their Senior Sustainable Production Manager. She is the main support for all the ITV Studios production companies globally (except UK and US) on the delivery of sustainability, both behind and in front of the screen.
Roman Russo is a certified Green Consultant and Green Film Expert from Germany. He has worked in film and television since 1998 and as an assistant director since 2012. Since 2021, Roman has been supporting various TV formats of Bavaria Fiction GmbH in sustainable issues related to greener producing. Since 2022, he and his colleagues have been successfully advising production companies in the cities of Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig and Dresden on more sustainable filming. On an international level, Roman works with Disney+, Amazon Studios, Netflix and Earth Angels NY, where he also advices productions in sustainable processes and operations. In June 2022, he received the Eisvogel sustainability award for his work on unafilm's Tatort Dortmund "Gier und Angst". The 1st prize in this category for the most sustainable production 2021/2022. The productions he supervised, Tatort Köln "Pyramide" and "Lu von Loser", were both nominated for the German Eisvogel award for the most sustainable film production in 2022/2023. The calculation and software tool Green Toolkit, which he developed, was used in both productions.
Louise Højgaard Johansen is a Danish festival programmer and film industry consultant. She has programmed and curated events for almost 20 years in Copenhagen, Reykjavik and Athens, and is today based in Prague. After becoming a mother, she continues her work for Athens Intl. Children's Film Festival. In 2022 she established Sane Cinema, which advocates for healthier practices in the film industry, through awareness, training and education, including collaborations with Erich Pommer Institut, ACE Producers, Marché du Film, EFM, FAMU, VŠMU, National Film School of Denmark etc. Louise holds a Master in Film Studies from The University of Copenhagen, and is a member of the European and Danish Film Academies.
After working with Flatpack Festival in Birmingham, Rico Johnson-Sinclair went on to build CineQ, a queer film festival that prioritises queer and trans, Black and Indigenous people and people of colour which is now in its 6th year. Although his career has developed since then, his ethos has always centred audiences first, understanding that the screens industries have the power to shape hearts and minds.
Outside of programming and exhibition, Rico consults with organisations around events that focus on inclusion and diversity and works with talent to develop emerging voices centring on untold stories from historically marginalised communities in partnership with organisations such as European Film Academy and The New Black Film Collective.
Not limited to film, Rico has led campaigns that focus on marginalised communities; he was also Festival Manager of SHOUT Festival, Birmingham's queer arts and culture festival offering a mix of dance, music, theatre, live art, visual arts, and film, with a key focus on artist development, and has previously worked for organisations such as Coventry City of Culture and Film Hub Midlands.
